Since Bitcoin’s historic rise in 2017, the amount of users participating in the cryptocurrency ecosystem increased from 18 million to nearly 68 million in a four-year period.

This course will introduce investigators to the world of cryptocurrencies; how they are purchased; how they are used for legitimate and criminal activities; and how they can be tracked. Attendees will be shown several open source and commercial tools that can be used for cryptocurrency analysis as well as how cryptocurrency is used on the dark web.
